"Unimaginable the redwoods on the far hill,
rooted for centuries, the living wood grown tall
and thickened with a hundred thousand days of light. "

Surfer

It is like the water of the ocean: even without wind there are waves everywhere. Suddenly knowing of the waves all around is the gross within the subtle; letting go of knowledge in the midst of knowing is like the subtle within the subtle. This is the sphere of the enlightened.

Footsteps

Taken in Pacific City while walking with my son. Haystack rock in the distance is one of the largest free standing monoliths in the world.

Looking Back

I took this on the coast this weekend. Hunter looked back to make sure the ocean was still there.

Tennis Anyone?

My daughter, at age 10, about sick of my picture taking. Probably visualizing my head as a tennis ball, like Wile E. Coyote saw Roadrunner as a roasted bird on a spit.

Little Shop of Horrors

I took this looking into a workshop atop a beautiful piece of property South of Sheridan, Oregon. I thought the dual rays of light shining down on the circular saw provided an interesting focal point. As a side note the place had a real Texas Chainsaw Massacre type of feel.

Sailors

This was taken during the Portland Rose Festival, in which several Navy destroyers and Coast Guard ships come into port. I later saw this same group pouring half drank beers into this poor girls glass time and again. They eventually walked out with her. Recruiting is an interesting sport.
