It is like the water of the ocean: even without wind there are waves everywhere. Suddenly knowing of the waves all around is the gross within the subtle; letting go of knowledge in the midst of knowing is like the subtle within the subtle. This is the sphere of the enlightened. - Pai-chang
My daughter, at age 10, about sick of my picture taking. Probably visualizing my head as a tennis ball, like Wile E. Coyote saw Roadrunner as a roasted bird on a spit.
I took this looking into a workshop atop a beautiful piece of property South of Sheridan, Oregon. I thought the dual rays of light shining down on the circular saw provided an interesting focal point. As a side note the place had a real Texas Chainsaw Massacre type of feel.
This was taken during the Portland Rose Festival, in which several Navy destroyers and Coast Guard ships come into port. I later saw this same group pouring half drank beers into this poor girls glass time and again. They eventually walked out with her. Recruiting is an interesting sport.
“We live in illusion and the appearance of things. There is a reality. We are that reality. When you understand this, you see that you are nothing, and being nothing, you are everything. That is all.”
~Chrisel Kalu Rinpoche (Tibetan Lama, Buddhist Leader, )
